They play alternative and Classic rock music. The band consists of Curtis Hammond on Vocals/ rhythm guitar, Chuck Haigler on lead guitar and background vocals, Rick Rosetti on drums and vocals and Jeff Rainwater on bass guitar. Our strength is in the high energy setlist that gets the crowd on their feet dancing and singing along to a mixture of classic rock, 80s rock, 90′s alternative hits and current music of today by such artists as Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, Sublime, Staind, Theory of a Deadman, Kid Rock, Limp Bizkit, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Drowning Pool, Disturbed, Velvet Revolver as well as classics like AC/DC, Van Halen, Def Leppard, Creed, Rage Against The Machine, STP, Bryan Adams, Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and more. Add to this a penchant for throwing in a little Tone Loc, Beastie Boys, Wildcherry, Cameo, Los Lonely Boyz and Stevie Ray Vaughn and you get an infectious evening of danceable rock and roll hits that the club patrons enjoy and never get tired of hearing.

 

Sweatin’ Bullets began several years ago in Gastonia, NC and played several gigs with a different lineup.

Upon answering an ad for a lead singer position, Curtis Hammond joined the lineup and brought along with him former Wax Gurus bandmate, Chuck Haigler and the talented and energetic, Rick Rosetti playing drums. Rick has many years of experience and provides background vocals as well. This new dynamic lineup has taken over and brought new life to the Sweatin’ Bullets band. For the past three years the group has consistently provided great live performances at clubs throughout the Charlotte area and have developed a following of supporters who enjoy the energy and playlist that appeals to the new younger crowds as well as the classic rock crowds.

It is this unique ability to integrate dance and rock into an fun filled exploration of styles that gives Sweatin’ Bullets an edge. The band is able to cover such a wide variety of styles due to the great musicianship of its players and attention to detail that makes them so special.

Love, while a term for affection, changes its meaning depending on the context albeit it romantic love, Godly love and brotherly love.  In the late 60’s Bobby Scott and Bobby Russell wrote a song that the musical band the Hollies turned into a hit and an instant classic with “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother.”  The history of the title dates back to the early 1900’s when Boys Town founder, Father Flanagan borrowed it from a picture he saw of one boy carrying another piggy-backed with the caption, “He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother.”  To this day a bronze statue sits outside the original Boys Town in Omaha, Nebraska.

The song is undoubtedly focused on brotherly love.  The words generate strong feelings of affection for those who are close as brothers to us.  For me, Michael Gilleand was one of them.  He was tragically injured at work last October and several weeks later passed away as he never regained consciousness

In the time I knew him I found him to be a very humorous man who loved and was dedicated to everyone he knew but more so to his wife, Susan and his canine companion, Tyler.

Mike’s life was a living reflection of this song even to the event that led to his death.

“The road is long  With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where Who knows where.”

Throughout his life he was strong enough to carry him (and anyone)…they weren’t heavy to Mike they were his brothers and sisters.  Carrying others was no burden for him to bear…SO HE SHARED!

Mike loved and he loved deeply and proved it with action.

Everyone has had a “Mike” in their lives which they’ve lost.  I miss him and my ultimate tribute to him is to be more like Mike.  I hope yours is as well.

The fact is that from time to time everyone needs to adjust their attitudes.  Jimmy Buffett’s, “Changes in Latitudes, Changes in Attitude,” reminds us of six ways to do this.

Reminder 1:

Take Time To Reflect
“I took off for a weekend last month just to try and recall the whole year.”
Time to deliberately reflect allows us to re-live our successes and learn from our mistakes.

Reminder 2:

Change Is Good.
“Nothing remains quiet the same.”
Where would you be today if you hadn’t changed?  Maybe still wearing diapers and drooling.  Change is inevitable.

Reminder 3:

Laugh Often
“If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane.”
Laughter and humor…the greatest stress reducer of all.

Reminder 4:

Confidence To Go On
“If it suddenly ended tomorrow, I could somehow adjust to the fall.”
Enjoy your life and the success you have NOW with the confidence that if it suddenly ended tomorrow you’d adjust to it.

Reminder 5:

SOBs’ Are Everywhere
“Good times and riches and son of-a-bitches, I’ve seen more than I can recall.”
There will always be those people who “rub you the wrong way.”  I bet if you’re honest you’d admit that you learned more about tolerance from them than those who “rubbed you the right way.”

Reminder 6:

Let Go…Look Forward
“Oh, yesterdays are over my shoulder, so I can’t look back for too long. There’s just too much to see waiting in front of me, and I know that I just can’t go wrong.”

All having played in various rock bands, and acoustic groups throughout the years, with many of the same people, you might say, Christina, Scott, & Kennon met through six degrees of various
musicians.

Formed in the fall of 2003 and all having the desire to get back to what made them fall in love with music in the first place, they decided to blend Acoustic guitars, various forms of hand percussion, and three part harmony vocals, to bring to the masses what is now known as Square Roots.

Their first CD, the self titled six song EP is rich in Americana based music and the influence is obvious. Blues, bluegrass, rock, pop, and anything else that could possibly bend your ear. Their second CD, Twisted Crazy Beautiful is an amazing Sophomore Recording with bigger & better influences, harmonies, and musical “Twists” and Turns. You can hear Twisted Crazy Beautiful on My Space, Reverbnation, and the Radio Stations listed on the front page of this website.

Square Roots live show is full of energy, and promises the best musical time you’ll ever have. Not a show goes by without a couple of friends showing up to play and add a little flavor, such as
trumpets, harmonicas, and other assorted instruments . While doing their original tunes, they throw in some songs of the most influential songwriters of our time. Paying homage to the songs and songwriters who stole their hearts so long ago. Getting back to the Roots of why they started playing in the first place.
