From mountainous valleys to sun drenched beaches, the most precious memories from my youth are filled with dreams of peaceful Carolina vacations, relaxing with friends and family. More precious than gold, these memories fill my soul when I hunger for lost loved ones. These memories of a happier time provide me with warmth when my heart is cold, and they cool my anger at the pettiness of life.
Carolina is in my blood. It is a part of who I am and cannot be removed by time or space. I am its charm and its fury, its wisdom and its petulance. The Carolina waters cleanse my soul and its fresh mountain air fills my body with God’s breath and forgiveness.
More than a simple ordinary vacation, the Carolina Mountains, it’s cool rivers and pulsing ocean heal me with quiet love and gentle touch. My tired body and mind are born anew with vigor and energy whenever I embrace your arms. Whatever may happen, however burdensome life becomes, I will always have the memory of a Carolina vacation to lift my spirit. If there be any doubt in God, then surely it is proof enough for any man to see and touch the waters and mountains of Carolina at the Sun’s rise and fall.
I have been given much and much has been taken from me. But the one thing that can’t be taken is my memory of life at its most peaceful, a simple time of love and rest during a Carolina vacation. The Carolina sun, the Carolina ground and the Carolina waters embrace and lift my soul to a higher ground. Unlike my flesh, a Carolina Vacation can never be cut away and it never grows old. I have traveled many roads and seen many things, but I have never seen a sight as beautiful as a Carolina Vacation.
